The book not only defines but also summarises various concepts, tools, strategies and provides an action guideline that the manufacturing sector must take as a reference to successfully make the digital transformation a reality. The authors reserve large portion of the book to go to through the details of ASEAN region’s journey to Industry4.0. In all it’s a good reading for industry practitioners and those who want to enter ASEAN for investment and business activities. I am using it as a preparation for my meetings in the region.

"Smart Factory, Transforming Manufacturing for Industry 4.0", by Michael Deng and Colin Koh is a book which goes through the emerging technologies as the building blocks of a Smart Factory.

A good portion of the book is dedicated to manufacturing operations and how the technology can transform them into new data driven business models as a source of generating additional value.

Although the focus is mostly on south-east Asia region, I found the content to be very relevant for others geografies as well.

What I learned and liked in particular, is the emphasis on design principles as a foundation for technology and lean manufacturing.

Definitely worth reading for those interested in how technology wave will impact manufacturing in the future

Very good book for learning overall histories of 1st to 4th industrial revolutions, as well as those Industry 4.0 plans of major countries, its requirements, architecture, examples in business areas, etc..very comprehensive.Probably a must read for anyone who are / will be doing IoT business in ASEAN.
