"Smart Factory, Transforming Manufacturing for Industry 4.0", by Michael Deng and Colin Koh is a book which goes through the emerging technologies as the building blocks of a Smart Factory.

A good portion of the book is dedicated to manufacturing operations and how the technology can transform them into new data driven business models as a source of generating additional value.

Although the focus is mostly on south-east Asia region, I found the content to be very relevant for others geografies as well.

What I learned and liked in particular, is the emphasis on design principles as a foundation for technology and lean manufacturing.

Definitely worth reading for those interested in how technology wave will impact manufacturing in the future
